The lost property office of the Oberursel (Taunus) city administration will auction off found objects from 01.10.2020, 17:00 hrs until 11.10.2020, 17:00 hrs.

Information about the items to be auctioned, including bicycles, mobile phones, jewellery etc., will be provided in a preview via an internet platform.
Only found objects that have been stored in the lost property office for more than half a year and for which no owner can be determined by the time the auction begins will be auctioned off.
The owners or other persons entitled to receive the items will be requested in accordance with § 980 BGB (German Civil Code) to assert their rights to the items found against the Lost Property Office Oberursel (Taunus).
- Participation in the auction
In order to participate in the auction, only a simple and free registration at www.sonderauktionen.net is required; the credit card number or bank details are not required. Citizens who do not have their own Internet access can use the public, but chargeable, multimedia workstations in the public library of the city of Oberursel (Taunus), Eppsteiner Str. 16-18, during opening hours.
- Conduct of the auction procedure
A maximum and a minimum bid are fixed for each object found. The purchase price of an item falls in a few cent steps over the offer period of 10 days from the maximum bid and then approaches the minimum bid set by the lost property office. If interested in an item, bidders can enter a purchase amount immediately or bid at the current price at any time during the auction.
- Example
A maximum price of EUR 100,-- and a minimum price of EUR 10,-- applies to a bicycle.
Bidder 1 enters a bid of 55,-- EUR in the list, bidder 2 enters 69,50 EUR. While the starting price has dropped to 72,-- EUR in the course of the auction, Bidder 3 makes a bid for this price and is awarded the contract.
After the contract is awarded, the buyer, the lost property office and the operator of the Internet platform are automatically notified by e-mail. Withdrawal from the auction is no longer possible thereafter.
