Sculpture (Tour)

Sculpture (Tour)

We warmly invite you to discover the town from a completely different and even exciting point of view.

Works of art enrich urban landscapes sustainably. Opening up space for art in Oberursel also strengthens the perspectives of local artists. The town of Oberursel (Taunus) together with the Oberursel Culture and Sports Promotion Association (Kultur- und Sportförderverein Oberursel, KSfO) organised sculptor symposia in 2009, 2011 and 2013 under the title "StadtZeichen" (‘Town signs’)

Numerous sculptures are now on display in the entire town centre area, starting from the railway station via Adenauerallee to the Rushmoor park and Lomonossow park, so that an inspiring sculpture route has been created.

Starting at the railway station forecourt, the circular trail leads to the Adenauerallee park and through the town centre to the Chopin Square and then to the Hospital Church. Passing the Vortaunusmuseum we leave the old town and cross over the Königsteiner Straße to the Lomonossow park.

The last stop at the moment is the Rushmoor park, where you can see the sculptures of the sculptor symposia as well as works by the "Kunsttäterwerkstatt" and by an art class from Oberursel Grammar School.

There are further sculptures, some of which are also the results of the symposia, at other locations in Oberursel.

For your cultural walk, you can request our "Sculpture Tour" brochure, which provides information about the origin and creation of the works of art.

It is also possible to book a guided tour to the individual locations. An expert guide will be able to give you further information about the sculptures.
