Orscheler Sommer (Outdoor Summer Events)

The so-called Orscheler Sommer is a non-commercial culture programme organised by a club called Kunstgriff e.V. Oberursel. It has taken place every summer since 1985 - basically during the Hessian school summer break - and all events are free of charge.

Orscheler Sommer events include:

  • Open-air cinema
  • Concerts
  • Water jousting on Maasgrundweiher
  • Street soccer
  • Punch and Judy shows
  • Flea market for children
  • Karaoke
  • Rallies through the pedestrian area
  • Acrobatic performances
  • Skate days and many more

Dampfbahnclub Taunus (Steam Engine Club Taunus)

Between April and October, the Dampfbahnclub Taunus (a steam engine club) opens its doors to the public once a month.

Enjoy the nostalgic flair of steam engines and experience the smell of oil, grease and coal for yourself. Admire these technical masterpieces in miniature. Hop on for a ride on a miniature train and relish your stay in this well-kept garden compound.
