Keltenstraße / Celtic Route

This route takes you to the major Celtic remains in Hesse, like the princes' graves in Glauburg, the salt works in Bad Nauheim, the Oppidum in Dünsberg, the earthworks in Butzbach and the sandstone quarries close to Büdingen. At all those sites you may learn more about the Celts of times past.

Deutsche Limes-Straße / Route along the Limes in Germany

From Butzbach, this route takes you through the Taunus to the remains of the Roman fortress Kapersburg in the vicinity of Wehrheim, on to the Roman fortress Saalburg (more at: www.saalburgmuseum.de) and along parts of the Limes, the former Roman border. Via Bad Homburg you reach the Feldberg (and Roman fortress ruins that are located at the highest altitude in Germany) before you go on to Schmitten and Bad Schwalbach.

This 47.5 km route takes you from Oberursel to Weilburg across the Nature Reserve Hochtaunus to enjoy and explore the scenic area on foot or by bicycle.

Apfelwein- & Obstwiesenroute / Apple Wine & Fruit Tree Meadows Route

This is an 80 km biking and hiking trail between Frankfurt on Main and the Vordertaunus and Hochtaunus areas. Along the way, altogether 60 "apple-related sites" invite you to explore our most valued fruit: farms, restaurants, apple wine  presses, educational trails, camping and meeting sites.

Hochtaunusstraße - Discovery Tour through the Taunus

On 100 km the Hochtaunusstraße takes you across the Taunus - from Bad Homburg to Bad Camberg. Along the way you can explore the countryside, indulge in the scenery around you and visit some outstanding sights. In autumn, you can sample the local culinary delights along the Hochtaunusstraße.
