Circular Route Through Oberursel's Old Part of Town
The tour starts and ends in "modern" Oberursel, in Korfstraße, close to the Rathaus/town hall.
The "History Town Walk" takes you along to Altes Hospital and Hospitalkirche. Via Strackgasse, you reach the Vortaunus Museum and the Stadtarchiv/Town Archive.
After passing under the archway of the Historisches Rathaus/Historic Town Hall, walk up the alley to St Ursula's church. On your way up, you will pass by some remains of the town wall and beautiful half-timbered houses. From the tower of St Ursula's church you have an excellent view of Oberursel and beyond.
Walk down the Hexentreppchen (witch's steps) to reach Herrenmühle, a mill which played a major role in Oberursel's history as it used to belong to the respective sovereign. After passing the Bleiche, where people used to wash and bleach (which is "bleichen" in German) their laundry, walk along Obere Hainstraße and Wiederholtstraße to get to the historic Marktplatz/market square.
At the Stadtbücherei/public library you enter Eppsteiner Straße. There you turn into Ackergasse, then into Schlenkergasse and Weidengasse and back into Strackgasse.
