Historic Buildings

- Christuskirche / Christ Church

- St Aureus & Justina Church
Oberursel's most distinctive and most photographed building is the Historisches Rathaus (historic town hall) on market square.
Visible from afar, the landmark of our town is St Ursula's Church with its tower called Hohe Wacht.
The other churches in our town are also quite impressive:
The Protestant Christuskirche (Christ Church) was built in the Jugendstil/Art Nouveau style and has magnificent stained-glass windows.
Also, Hospitalkirche is well worth a visit to admire very artistically sculptured statues.
More treasures are scattered across the various parts of town, such as St Aureus & Justina church in Bommersheim. For more information please visit www.kath-oberursel.de.
The building at Ackergasse 13, today's Alt Oberurseler Brauhaus (pub/restaurant with in-house brewery), was built between 1723 and 1728. The impressive baroque-style sandstone staircase in the foyer leads up to the Hochzeitssaal (room to celebrate weddings) on the upper floor. This newly refurbished room embellished with stuccoed artwork provides just the right setting for all kinds of celebrations while the in-house service will cater to your every need.
