Historic houses, the Vortaunus Museum, the Ursel Brook, small ponds and winding alleys invite you to take a stroll down history lane.
The "History Town Walk" takes you along to picturesque corners and beautiful houses in our old part of town. Back in the 1970s, a major reconstruction project was launched to save numerous houses on the brink of collapse. Ever since, great effort, care and attention to detail has been paid to restore this part of our town to its former glory. The result has been an incredibly homogeneous townscape, creating a very special atmosphere we appreciate so much these days. There are modernised town houses right next to cosy pubs, restaurants and shops and cultural events abound.
Oberursel is called "town of fountains": Every year a fountain queen is crowned to rule over Oberursel during Brunnenfest (Fountain Festival), a major highlight throughout the year celebrated on the weekend following Whit Sunday. It does not go unnoticed that the fountains take centre stage in our town.
Along the Mühlenwanderweg (walking route to former mill sites) you may learn more about Oberursel's nature and industrial history.
There is always much to do and see in and around Oberursel.
